The French exchange students staying with us for the summer each have a travel journal and they asked me to put something in it. I painted a self portrait of myself and my husband Tuong.

The first major color blocks are done on Mount Robson 12 by Annette Truong.

I'm focusing on simple blocky colors for the mountain stripes and foreground. I still have to add depth of shading to all areas, but I like the look of the underpay ting so I'm sharing it at this stage.

These bottles were dug up from the forest behind my house (thrown away by previous residents since the 1950's). The morning light made them glow which I tried to capture with this under painting.

Work in progress: Mount Robson #4. This painting will be similar to the birds-eye-view of my Love Apple Farm series. It will focus on the Berg Lake Trail which flanks Mount Robson on the west.
